Fireside tea towel
In a little corner of The Museum in the Park in Stroud, a very atmospheric and homely scene is set up in tribute to Laurie Lee, who was raised in the nearby Slad Valley. Laurie Lee wrote extensively, and beautifully, about the area, and his words are very evocative. In the book 'A Village Christmas', a collection of his essays, you can find descriptions of how his family decorated their home at Christmas. I decided to draw from his words and from the scene in the museum, and the result is this tea towel, 'Fireside'. Also available as a Christmas card, here.
The tea towels are screen printed by a local printer, just down the road from me in Gloucestershire.
100% cotton with corner hanging loop.
